Fonte da Pipa
The Pipa Fountain was built by order of King John V in 1736. The monumental fountain four taps provided quality water to the residents of the village of Almada, representing yet, during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, an important supply point for boats crossing the Tagus. Especially the verses in Latin, with the two -century tile panels . XVIII and the shield of Queen Maria I.
The tiles represent the Goddess Diana, on the right, and the figure of Justice , both examples of mythology.
