Cabo da Roca
The Cabo da Roca is the westernmost point of continental Portugal , as well as in continental Europe , is also the point in Europe closest to Continental United States. It is located in the parish of Colares, Sintra municipality and district of Lisbon. The site is open to visitors, but not to the extreme to a zone at an elevation of 140 m .
The cable forms the western end of the Serra de Sintra, rushing over the Atlantic Ocean. In the area there is a lighthouse (Cabo da Roca Lighthouse ) and a tourist shop. It is housed in the Natural Park of Sintra- Cascais, in an area of easy access and great tourist influx, with many people who visit it .
